Information

This is the old lookout post of the East, placed so that no enemy may approach unseen. It is one of the few places in Cymru from which the Gwerddonau Llion can be seen in bright sunlight. There are fortress and defence ramparts and remnants still to be seen. Below is the Afon Elwy, in which Queen Nest lost her fabled ring. It was later recovered inside a salmon (the story appears in a window in St. Asaph Cathedral), but the power of the watchtower of Mynydd y Gaer is so great that an observer in the appropriate state can see the past. If you look carefully, you may still see the glint of the ring in a bend in the river.
